Helpful Information

Before your sugaring appointment

  • Check to make sure your hair is long enough. It should be at least 1/4” long or at least 2 weeks since you last shaved.

  • Arrive wearing loose clothing. If we are sugaring the bikini, try to wear undies that are not super tight on the bikini line.

  • Make sure you skin is clean of any oils, lotions or makeup.

  • Feel free to take an ibuprofen or Tylenol one hour before your appointment.

  • Drink plenty of water and try to avoid too much caffeine.

  • Try to relax. I’ll walk you through the process and answer any and all questions you might have!

After your sugaring appointment

  • Be gentle with your skin.

  • For the first 24 hours after your appointment, try to avoid: Hot tubs, direct sun exposure, heavy exercise.

  • After about 3-4 days, I recommend exfoliating skin that was sugared. It is important to remove the dead skin cells that build up, blocking access for the new hairs to come through. Thus, avoiding ingrown hairs.

  • As always, be sure to hydrate your skin after exfoliating. We recommend Fur oil or a grapeseed or jojoba oil. Steer clear of lotions and coconut oil.

About your brow lamination

  • At Peace Love & Sugar we use London Brow Co. for our brow laminations. We did a LOT of research and we found that London Brow Co. offers the cleanest, most effective product on the market. Plus, it’s vegan, cruelty free, sulfate, silicone and ammonia free, low odor and non-GMO.

  • What is brow lamination??

    • Brow lamination is a 3 step process:

      • Step 1 is the “perm” which breaks down the keratin in your brow hairs.

      • Step 2 is the brow setting process. This builds the keratin and nourishment back into your brows.

      • Step 3 is the nourishing serum. This step holds the brows into place.

  • Why would I get my brows laminated?

    • Brow lamination is great for someone who has sparse or patchy brows. Also great for someone who has thin, over-plucked brows. The lamination process can make sparse thin brows appear full and fluffy!

  • Contraindications:

    • Brow lamination is contraindicated for pregnant women, recent eye surgery, sunburn, psoriasis, eczema and recent permanent makeup (must be at least 6 weeks post PMU and completely healed).

    • A patch test is recommended.
